Hi, I'm Lauren. Here's a little about me...
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and my Master's degree from the University of Toledo, graduating summa cum laude. I began my career in community mental health, where I spent 8 years working as a mental health social worker supporting individuals through complex emotional, relational, and life challenges.
| later transitioned into medical social work and became the very first social worker for ProMedica's Palliative Medicine team. Working closely alongside hospice, I supported patients and families facing life-limiting illness and end-of-life care. It was in this work-holding space for grief, uncertainty, and meaning-that my therapy skills truly deepened and my perspective on healing fundamentally shifted, both professionally and personally.
After returning home to Michigan, I worked as an oncology social worker at the University of Michigan Hospital Rogel Cancer Center, providing therapy to patients and caregivers navigating some of the most uncertain seasons of their lives.
These experiences ultimately led me to counseling, where I found my true passion.
I work with individuals who are motivated to grow-people who may look put-together on the outside, but internally are navigating anxiety, perfectionism, unresolved loss, or a sense that life no longer feels aligned. My approach is direct, supportive, and rooted in clarity and accountability. I'm not here to watch you tread water - I'm here to help you swim.
Given my background, I understand the realities of loss, transition, identity shifts, and what it means to rebuild a meaningful life. I also integrate life coaching principles to support clients in creating lasting change, not just insight.
Therapy with me isn't passive. It involves honest reflection, challenging patterns that no longer serve you, and developing the emotional tools to live with intention instead of reaction. If you are ready to face what hurts, question what holds you back, and build a life that feels grounded, real, and aligned - we can do meaningful work together and I'd be honored to help you in your journey.
